Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said President Putin is visiting Cairo in early 2015, as posted on the Russia Today website on Thursday.
The website quoted Bogdanov as saying that the visit is in response to the visit of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to Russia this year. He also said that the Russian delegation will discuss the strengthening of military cooperation.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry spoke with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the phone and discussed developments in bilateral relations and in the region.
