The Railway Authority saw an additional revenue of LE20 million earned in December compared to December 2014, said Transport Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Ibrahim in a press statement Monday.
Ibrahim said the reason behind the increase in revenue is Transport Minister Saad el-Geyoushi's vision to improve the service provided to citizens, to increase the number of ticket windows and to control evasion from paying for tickets by many passengers.
The Railway Authority achieved for the third consecutive month an unprecedented boom in revenues, he said, stressing that this increase will be reflected positively on improving services provided to citizens, as well as the salaries of workers.
