Remittances from Egyptian expatriates rise 8.5% in 9 months

Remittances from Egyptian expatriate workers from July to March of fiscal year 2020/2021 rose 8.5 percent, from US$1.8 billion to about $23.4 billion, compared to $21.5 billion during the same period of previous fiscal year 2019/2020.

The data showed an increase in transfers during March 2021 at a rate of 11.0 percent, to record about $2.9 billion, compared to about $2.6 billion in March 2020. Those transfers almost stabilized from January to March 2021, to record about $7.85 billion, compared to about $7.87 billion during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
