On Friday, head of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority Turki Al-Sheikh inaugurated the Riyadh Season 2022, under the slogan “Beyond Imagination”.
Sheikh explained in a press conference that the new season includes 15 areas, each of which is characterized by a special entertainment feature.
The most prominent area is “Boulevard World”, which represents the cultures of several countries around the world, such as the US, France, Greece, India, China, Spain, Japan, Morocco, Mexico, and Italian Venice.
All these countries will present their experiences through restaurants, markets and arts, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The new “Boulevard World” area, which is inaugurated for the first time in the Riyadh Season 2022, includes the largest artificial lake in the world, where visitors can enjoy a ride on submarines for the first time in Riyadh.
A number of special events and activities can be enjoyed at the combat field area, and the village dedicated for superheroes.
A cable car transfers visitors between an area and another, and to the “Boulevard Riyadh City”, with a capacity of up to 3,000 visitors per hour.
This year, “Boulevard Riyadh City”, which has been present in the past seasons, is characterized by many developments, most notably the creation of 12 new restaurants and cafes, and the display of 25 Arab and international plays, including seven Saudi plays.
Al-Sheikh explained that the “Winter Wonderland” zone returns this year with five new games, as well as various experiences that allow residents and visitors of the capital to explore new and distinctive options, while the “Al-Murabba” zone hosts eight international restaurants, and the “Sky Riyadh” provides skyscrapers lounges for specialty drinks and meals.
The “Via Riyadh” zone is characterized by an exceptional selection of restaurants and cafes, a five-star hotel for the first time in the KSA, and seven cinemas with various viewing options.
The area enjoys Salmani-style architectural designs in which a group of international and exclusive shops are in harmony.
The season includes a number of exhibitions equipped for family visitors, children and individuals, where they can enjoy games and workshops.
The season introduces as part of its activities this year, “Riyad Zoo”, which represents one of the most prominent international zoos, with more than 1,300 animals of 190 species.
This season contains several surprises in the zones of “Little Riyadh” and “The Groves” in the Diplomatic Quarter, in addition to “Fan Festival” at Marsoul Park, which can accommodate more than 20,000 World Cup fans for each match, and includes an exhibition of Maradona, and an exhibition of the English Newcastle club.
The “Imagination Park” zone is a lively entertainment destination that takes place in Al-Rehab district, west of Riyadh. It is also an area dedicated to gaming experiences that simulate the most famous films, designs and live shows.
The season also includes a group of sporting events such as WWE, the Riyadh Season Cup, which brings together the Paris Saint-Germain team with the stars of Al Hilal and Al Nasr, Cirque du Soleil international shows, and 65 days of fireworks.
Sheikh said that there are a number of free zones during the season, such as the “Al-Suwaidi Park”, “Zaman Village” and “Al-Zal Market”.
The Riyadh Season 2022 is distinguished by presenting an exclusive mixture of suspense and modernity, making the capital Riyadh a major incubator, a preferred destination and a stimulating space that exceeds the local and international imagination, with what it provides to residents and visitors, aiming to consolidate the Kingdom’s position as one of the most prominent entertainment destinations at the regional and global levels.
