Russia registers world’s first vaccine against coronavirus

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday announced that his country has registered of the world’s first vaccine against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Russia caused great surprise by announcing the completion of trials on the vaccine against the virus, and its subsequent approval, adding that the vaccine will be registered on Wednesday.

Russia is not alone in the race to find a vaccine.

On Monday, the US Secretary of Health, Alex Azar said that any vaccine or treatment that the US formulates will be available to the rest of the world as soon as the needs of his country are met, as pandemic cases around the world have crossed the barrier of 20 million, according to the Worldometer website, which monitors coronavirus statistics.
