The Russian embassy in Cairo issued a statement in response to the US and NATO statements about allegations of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
“The US and NATO countries continue the hysteria about (the Russian invasion of Ukraine) with the help of misinformation they themselves have come up with. They are carrying out a real psychological attack against Russia with the help of disinformation,” the embassy said in a statement.
“Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces controlled by Washington have been shelling the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics with mortars since February 17, looking for weaknesses in their defense. Under the guise of Western propaganda, clear preparations are being made for a real attack on the Donbas, including the area near the demarcation line,” the statement added.
“The authorities in Donetsk have information about a plan on an attack operation prepared by Kiev. It was shown on TV as evidence. Russia will not attack anyone. However, the Americans really want to plan a war between the Russians and the Ukrainians. They are pushing the Kiev regime to continue the genocide of the Donbas population among them are many Russian citizens,” the statement read.
