Egyptian weightlifter Sarah Samir has won three gold medals at the 2022 IWF World Weightlifting Championships currently held in Colombia.
The Egyptian Olympic Committee said through their media center, Wednesday, that Chairman of the Egyptian Olympic Committee Hisham Hatab, congratulated the player and the Egyptian Weightlifting Federation, headed by Mohamed Abdel Maksoud, after achieving three gold medals in the tournament.
Samir won three gold medals in the 76 kg competitions in the snatch, clean and total categories.
Samir won three gold medals and three new records in the snatch, clean and total lifts during the African Championship competitions organized by Egypt in the covered hall of Cairo International Stadium.
The champion broke the African records in the snatch, the clean and the total, to become the first Egyptian and African player to break the African record in three different weights, after she broke the record in the 71 kg, 76 kg and 81 kg categories.
Samir has become the first Egyptian, African and Arab player to achieve all Arab, African, international and Olympic titles when she was under 25 years old.
The World Championships in Colombia is one of the qualifying stations for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
