Security sources said that when the conductor of the Cairo-Aswan train was checking a passenger’s ticket he found out that the passenger was Abdallah, son of the deposed President Mohamed Morsy who was authorities say was escaping from his prison sentence for drug abuse.
Train security reported him to the police, who stopped the train in Beni Suef, arrested him and transported him to Cairo with strict security measures.
The sources added that the police found documents with Abdallah that prove he was planning to flee to Sudan from the village of Drau in Aswan or to Libya from Fayoum.
