Senior Egyptian officials arrive in Baghdad for high-level meetings

Presidential Assistant for National and Strategic Projects Ibrahim Mahlab arrived in Baghdad on a multiple-day visit as head of a high-level delegation to discuss with Iraqi officials bi-lateral cooperation between the two countries in different fields.

The Egyptian delegation includes Communications Minister Yasser al-Qady, Health Minister Ahmed Emad Eddin, Manpower Minister Mohamed Saafan, senior officials from a number of ministries, heads of Egyptian national companies and businessmen.

Iraq’s ambassador to Egypt Habib Hadi Al-Sadr stated on January 6 on the sidelines of the Iraqi embassy’s celebration of the 97th anniversary of the foundation of the Iraqi army that a joint presidential Egyptian-Iraqi committee will be formed to sign several Memoranda of Understandings in different fields.

Sadr added that Iraq awaits the participation of Egyptian companies in reconstructing cities that the Iraqi army has liberated during its battle against the terror sect the Islamic State.
