Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar received on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, a new 22-ton shipment of medical aid from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
The shipment includes medicines, medical supplies and equipment to support Egyptian hospitals treating Palestinian patients and wounded people.
Abdel Ghaffar said the shipment reflects the strategic partnership between Egypt and France and their shared commitment to humanitarian support for Palestinians, adding that French assistance since the start of the Gaza crisis has included medical care, humanitarian aid and treatment for critical cases in French hospitals.
French Minister Delegate for Francophonie, International Partnerships and French Nationals Abroad Éléonore Caroit praised Egypt’s role in treating around 100 wounded Palestinians daily, saying the new shipment will help strengthen Egyptian hospitals’ capacity to provide medical care and ease the suffering of civilians in Gaza.
Abdel Ghaffar also highlighted the broader Egypt-France health partnership, which extends to primary healthcare, universal health insurance, maternal and child health programs and the treatment of Palestinian children with cancer.
