Sharaf holds longest cabinet meeting in history

Prime Minister Essam Sharaf on Sunday broke the record for holding the longest cabinet meeting in the 136 years since it was established in 1876.

The meeting lasted 10 uninterrupted hours, during which ministers discussed an array of draft laws, including those on parliamentary councils.

The previous longest cabinet meeting was held under Atef Sedqy's administration and lasted 380 minutes, said Ahmed al-Semman, Sharaf's media adviser.
