Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shourky and his US counterpart Antony Blinken underlined the importance of working on enhancing the strategic partnership between the two countries through promoting cooperation in the economic and military spheres.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid, meanwhile, said that Shoukry made a phone call on Monday with Blinken to follow up on the latest developments in the bilateral relations, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The two sides discussed the latest regional and international developments, especially the situation in Sudan, Libya and Niger, according to the spokesman.
They further tackled the outcome of last week’s meeting of the Arab Ministerial Liaison Committee on Syria, along with the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, added the spokesman.
Both ministers affirmed keenness on continuing coordination and consultation in the upcoming period to follow up on the path of cooperation between the two countries, he added.
