Shoukry discusses with AmCham flow in foreign investments

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received on Monday a delegation of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Egypt, which plans to visit Washington within the framework of the annual Door-Knocking Mission.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said the meeting dealt with reviewing the scheduled visit of the team to three US states.

He pointed out to the increase of political contacts between the two countries as well as efforts exerted by the Foreign Ministry to support Egyptian-American partnership especially in the economic and investment domains.

The spokesman said the meeting also tackled challenges linked to the global economy as well as efforts exerted by the Egyptian government to facilitate the flow of foreign investments and the growing chances for the US private sector to invest in Egypt.

The foreign minister discussed with AmCham delegation plans of holding the first meeting of the economic commission between the two countries in Cairo, which is expected to boost cooperation in many domains including energy, environment, investment, trade, communications, information technology, digital economy, infrastructure and supply chains.

Shoukry was keen to review joint coordination and contacts between the two countries on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
