Gunmen seized a Central Security Forces vehicle late on Thursday near the town of Rafah in North Sinai and beat up and tortured the three soldiers inside, according to police sources.
The gunmen dumped the beaten soldiers in the desert, where police later found them.
Police are still searching for the perpetrators and the two cars, the sources added.
