Sinai tribal leader shot, still in surgery

Sheikh Eissa Salem Ouda, a Sinai tribal leader and former parliament member was wounded by anonymous gunmen on Wednesday.
 
The attackers shot the 67-year old sheikh in the head while driving his car in the neighborhood of Masaeed in Arish, then fled the scene, said a security source.
 
According to a medical official at the Arish General Hospital, Sheikh Ouda is in a critical condition, currently undergoing surgery.
 
Sheikh Ouda is a leader of the Romailat tribe in Rafah and was a former member of parliament for several terms. He was also the president of Sinai Fighters Association.
 
Security sources are attempting to comb the area and arrest the attackers.
