The president is looking for a successor to Prime Minister Hesham Qandil, considering initiatives from the Wasat and Nour parties recommending a Cabinet reshuffle and a national consensus government, presidential sources said.
A Muslim Brotherhood source said Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim and Information Minister Salah Abdel Maqsoud would be dismissed, while Local Development Minister Mohamed Ali Beshr and Youth Minister Osama Yassin would be kept.
Karem Radwan of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party said the party does not mind a Cabinet reshuffle as long as the legitimate president approves of it. He also praised the development minister for doing a good job in limited amount of time.
Tarek al-Malt of the moderate Islamist Wasat Party said the initiative suggests three people who have political groups’ approval for the president to choose from, adding that the part is contacting groups such as the opposition’s National Salvation Front and youth coalitions.
Mohamed Mansour of the Salafi Nour Party said Qandil’s government proved to be incapable of doing its job.

Qandil was sworn in 2 August after the dismissal of interim Prime Minister Kamal al-Ganzouri.
Presidential adviser Pakinam al-Sharqawy had said yesterday that Morsy was not considering replacing Qandil. Morsy and his aides have regularly dismissed the idea of a Cabinet reshuffle, saying Qandil would keep his position until parliamentary elections.
