Sports and Youth Minister Ashraf Sobhy received on Monday an invitation to attend the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup from Iraqi Ambassador in Cairo Ahmed Nayef Rashid.
During their meeting, Sobhy discussed with Rashid the latest developments related to youth programs and projects included on the agenda of the Council of Arab Ministers for Youth and Sports.
The minister welcomed the two countries’ agreement on implementing a set of projects and programs within the coming period.
The ambassador conveyed Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani’s greetings to the minister, voicing his country’s keenness to boost cooperation with Egypt in the sports domain.
The Gulf championship will be held in Basra, southern Iraq, from January 6 to 19.
