State Council employees on Sunday blocked Mourad Street, a major street in Giza, after their colleague, Asma Bekheit, was run over by a speeding car. The victim, a woman in her 20s, was killed instantly.
The 6000 council employees had previously requested authorities to place a speed bump in front of the building after another colleague was hit by a car in the same location and broke his leg.
Security sources said that the owner of the speeding car was arrested, and that the prosecution has begun to investigate the incident.
