Stock indices rose collectively by the end of Tuesday’s session, with Arab and Egyptian investors increasing purchases against the backdrop of the Arab summit that urged Arab countries to address violence and consolidate bonds of cooperation.
Traders said the market picked up after a negative performance at the beginning of the week, which prompted the main index to close above 8,500 points for the first time since August 2008. They expect it to pass 10,000 points before the end of the year.
The EGX30 index rose by 1.14 percent to hit 8,501.6 points, the small and medium EGX70 index rose by 0.85 percent to 641.51 points and the broader EGX100 index rose by 0.92 to 1,119.43 points.
Total trading reached LE1 billion, and capital market won LE5.2 billion to reach LE497.1 billion at the end of the trading session.
