Sudden drop in temperatures across Egypt on Sunday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) anticipates temperatures to drop in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, South Sinai, and the southern parts of the country on Sunday, while the weather will be relatively hot on the north coast.

The weather will also be moderate at night across most parts of the country.

Active winds are also expected, which may stir up sand and dust in areas of southern Upper Egypt, South Sinai, and the Red Sea Governorate at intermittent intervals.

The EMA expects disruption to maritime traffic in the Mediterranean, Red Sea, and Gulf of Suez. Wind speeds will range from 50-60 km/h, and wave heights will range from two to three meters.

Sunday’s temperatures:

  • Alexandria and Matrouh: 28C
  • Cairo: 36C
  • Hurghada: 37C
  • Sharm El-Sheikh: 40C
  • Luxor: 41C
  • Aswan: 43C
