
The Public Prosecution Office in Giza on Tuesday ordered the detention of the director of a swimming academy and two coaches for four days pending investigations into the death of a child in a swimming pool at a club in Badrashin.
Security services in the Giza Security Directorate are conducting investigations to uncover the circumstances of the incident and determine whether negligence led to the death of eight-year-old Rahim, who drowned while in the swimming pool.
The Badrashin police station received a report of a child drowning inside the club.
A team of police detectives went to the scene to conduct the necessary investigations and take statements from eyewitnesses.
The body was transferred to Badrashin Central Hospital and placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Detectives questioned several club officials, employees, and swimming pool supervisors to determine the cause of the incident.
They also seized and reviewed the surveillance camera footage to examine the sequence of events at the time of the drowning, in order to take the necessary legal measures.
