Swiss delegation to advise on repatriating stolen assets

The judicial committee tasked with repatriating money illegally transferred abroad by members of the former ruling regime will meet on Tuesday with a Swiss delegation specializing in this field.

The committee will discuss the necessary documents to be presented to Swiss courts so as to compel Swiss banks to disclose accounts of deposed President Hosni Mubarak, his wife Suzanne, his sons Alaa and Gamal, as well as those of 15 other leading members of the former regime.

The committee and delegation will also agree on procedures for returning money in those accounts to the Egyptian government.

The committee has discussed similar procedures with other European countries, the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Arab Emirates.
