Three people drown at Marsa Matrouh beaches

Three people drowned on Thursday while swimming in the sea in Egypt’s northwestern coastal town of Marsa Matrouh.

Nagat Ramadan al-Sayed, 45, from Fayoum, drowned at Ageeba beach. The second victim is Sayed Aboul Yzeed, 40, from Sohag, who drowned at Rommel beach. Finally, Bassem Ahmed Mourad Mehanna Fahim, 21, from Qalyubia, drowned at al-Marwa beach.

The victims were transferred to Matrouh General Hospital, where they were all declared dead on site.

Marsa Matrouh boasts pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters, attracting both Egyptian and foreign tourists throughout the year.
