Three secular parties to enter elections with unified list

Three secular political parties have agreed to run in the parliamentary elections on a unified list that includes candidates from the liberal, leftist, nationalist and Islamist trends. The parties are the Democratic Front Party, the Reform and Development Party, and the Masrena Party.

“We welcome coordination with all political forces,” said Democratic Front Party President Osama al-Ghazaly Harb, adding that renowned businessman Ramy Lakah, founder of the Masrena Party, vigorously advocates for change.

For his part, Reform and Development Party President Mohamed Esmat al-Sadat said he expected the parties’ unified list to win the majority of seats in parliament.
