The Agouza Misdemeanor Court in Giza, headed by Judge Amr Hassanein, adjourned on Monday the trial of Armenian belly dancer Safinaz over insulting the Egyptian flag to 20 April.
The defendant did not attend the Monday session, which lasted half an hour.
The prosecutor had ordered the release of Safinaz on LE20,000 bail.
Safinaz was arrested at her home in Doqqi after she was summoned for interrogations three times, but did not attend.
During one of her shows in Ain Sokhna last summer, Safinaz danced wearing an outfit with the Egyptian flag's three colors and the eagle, prompting some to accuse her of violating Article 223 of the Egyptian Constitution, which states that insulting the Egyptian flag is a crime punishable by law.
Safinaz confessed to wearing the outfit, but said she was unaware of the law. She added that she was wearing the Egyptian flag to express her love for Egypt and Egyptians.
