The series “Love and Tears,” starring the duo Hande Erçel and Barış Arduç, will premiere on the Shahid platform on September 25th, simultaneously with its broadcast in Turkey.
The platform chose a different name for the dubbed version, which will be titled “Mira and Selim,” the names of the characters the two stars play.
“Mira and Selim” is the Turkish remake of the famous Korean drama “Queen of Tears.”
The show tells the story of Mira, the heiress of a wealthy family, who graduates from America and goes undercover as an intern at her family’s company. There, she falls in love with Selim, a lawyer at the same company, who is unaware of her true identity.
Years into their marriage, the couple faces many problems and decides to separate. However, Mira discovers she has a serious illness, which prompts Selim to stand by her, beginning their journey to rekindle their love.
The series is written by Dilyara Pamuk and directed by Engin Erden.
While this new series marks a highly anticipated collaboration between the Turkish stars, Erçel and Arduç, it is not their first time working together.
The beloved duo previously collaborated on the 2022 Netflix film “Sen Yaşamaya Bak” (known as “You Just Live”), which garnered significant acclaim upon its release.
However, their return to the screen as a leading duo in a television series is considered a major milestone. Unlike a feature film, a series involves a longer and more intricate storyline, making this a pivotal and highly anticipated project for both the actors and their devoted fanbase.
