Sources said on Wednesday that two antique artifacts were stolen from the warehouse of the Chicago Institute in Luxor Temple.
The first piece is 15 cm x 10 cm in the form of a baboon and the second is the same size in the form of a cat.
The Tourism Police Department was informed and prosecutors went to inspect the scene of the theft.
The attorney general formed a committee to examine the inventory of the warehouse, which contains 3,000 antique artifacts of different shapes and sizes, to make sure nothing else is missing.
