UN to vote on Palestinian motion seeking ICJ opinion on Israeli occupation next week

The UN General Assembly is expected to vote on Palestinian motion seeking a legal opinion from International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the legal implications of Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory next week.

The motion was prepared by the State of Palestine and approved by the Special Political and Decolonization Committee (Fourth Committee) November 11.

The General Assembly started its discussions about the motion on Monday before referring it the ICJ for its legal opinion.
