Upper Egypt car crash kills 3 people, injures 17

Three workers were killed and 17 others were injured during traffic accident on Upper Egypt Desert Road, northern Minya governorate, on Saturday.

The accident was caused by excessive speeding as the driver lost control over the vehicle.

The Director of Minya Security Mohamed Mostafa Dabsh received a notification from rescue operations stating that a pickup truck had overturned on the old eastern Upper Egypt desert road, north of the village of Sheikh Hassan in the Matai center, Minya Governorate.

The road security team and ambulances moved to the accident site.

The accident caused the death of three people between the ages of 27-34, residing in the village of Hamada, Beni Mazar center.

Seventeen others were injured, including three in serious condition, between the ages of 15-45, all of whom reside in the village of Hamada in the Beni Mazar center.

The injured were transferred to Samalut Model Hospital to receive treatment, and the three bodies were kept in the hospital morgue at the disposal of the Public Prosecution.

Police filed a case with the incident, and the car was seized at the disposal of the Public Prosecution.
