The US dollar surge has continued at banks on Thursday at four banks including the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), Banque Misr, Banque du Caire and the Commercial International Bank (CIB).
The exchange rate of the US dollar at the three national banks reached LE18 for selling, compared to LE18.25 at the CIB.
A rate of increase that ranged between 5-130 piasters occurred by the end of transactions time.
At NBE, the selling rate for the US dollar reached LE17.8, compared to LE17.7 on Wednesday. At Banque Misr, the selling rate for the US dollar reached LE17.85, compared to LE17.55 on Wednesday, marking an increase of 30 piasters at that bank.
At Banque du Caire, the selling rate for the US dollar reached LE17.85 compared to LE17.7 on Wednesday, marking an increase of 15 piasters. At CIB, the selling rate reached LE17.95, compared to LE17.85 on Wednesday, marking an increase of 10 piasters.
