The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts continued very cold weather on Saturday night and early morning.
The temperature in Cairo is expected to reach 20 degrees Celsius during the daytime.
A member of the EMA’s media center, Manar Ghanem, said that the country has experienced a brief period of unstable weather conditions.
She noted that some areas are experiencing rainfall due to the country being affected by a low-pressure system, along with active winds stirring up sand and dust in some governorates.
This low-pressure system impacting the country will end today, Saturday, she said, adding that weather conditions will begin to improve and stabilize, with a decrease in the chance of rain.
However, the weather will remain very cold at night.
Ghanem also predicted a continued chance of light to moderate rain in coastal areas and northern Lower Egypt.
Wind speeds will decrease, leading to a more stable weather pattern, with the usual winter conditions for this time of year continuing.
Expected temperatures for Saturday:
- Matrouh: 19C
- Cairo and Alexandria: 20C
- Hurghada and Luxor: 22C
- Aswan: 23C
- Sharm El-Sheikh: 24C
