Very hot and humid weather across Egypt on Thursday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts very hot and humid weather across most parts of the country during the day on Thursday.

Slightly hot and humid conditions are expected at night and in the early morning in most areas, with hot and humid conditions along the northern coast.

Expected temperatures will be 36C in Greater Cairo, 30C along the northwestern coast, 37C in northern Upper Egypt, with southern Upper Egypt at a searing 43C.

The EMA said that the high humidity levels will increase the perceived temperature by one to three degrees Celsius compared to the shade.

It also noted intermittent wind activity across most of the country, with speeds ranging between 30-36 kilometers per hour.

Weather maps also showed rough weather in some areas along the coasts of the Gulf of Suez and the Gulf of Aqaba, where wind speeds are expected to reach between 50-60 kilometers per hour, and wave heights between 2.5 and 3.5 meters.

The authority urged seafarers to exercise caution and follow safety instructions.

It indicated a slight chance of low clouds forming over scattered areas of the northern coast, the Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, and the Suez Canal cities, which may result in a light, insignificant drizzle in some areas.

The authority urged citizens to continuously monitor weather forecasts and take necessary precautions to mitigate the impact of expected weather phenomena, especially given the continued high temperatures and humidity levels.
