Very hot weather across Egypt on Wednesday: EMA

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) anticipates hot weather to continue across most of Egypt, with a noticeable rise in temperatures south of the nation.

The weather will be mild at night and early in the morning in most areas, while very hot weather will prevail during the day across the country with slightly hot weather on the northern coasts.

Greater Cairo will see temperatures of 36C, while temperatures in northern Upper Egypt will hit 39C. Southern Upper Egypt will reach as high as 44C, making it one of the hottest areas in the country.

Satellite images indicated intermittent wind activity in areas of Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt, at speeds ranging between 30 and 35 kilometers per hour.

The EMA noted a slight chance of low cloud formation over scattered areas of the northern coast, the Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, and northern Upper Egypt, which may be accompanied by light, insignificant drizzle in some areas.

It confirmed that high humidity levels will increase the perceived temperature by one to two degrees Celsius above the temperature recorded in the shade.

Citizens are advised to avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours, drink plenty of water and fluids, and stay updated on the EMA’s weather forecasts.
