Egyptian movie star Ahmed Ezz is anticipating the release of his new movie “El Aref” (The Knower) nearly a year after completing its filming.
The release of the movie was postponed until July 14 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In statements to Al-Masry Al-Youm, Ezz said that the film is a surprise and will be an important shift in the cinema, especially in the implementation of action scenes and overall ideas.
The movie is starring Ahmed Fahmy and Mahmoud Hemida, along with Rakeen Saad, Carmen Bsaibes, Mahmoud Hegazy and Rita Hayek.
The movie is written by Mohamed Sayed Bashir, directed by Ahmed Alaa, and produced by Ahmed Badawy. Originally, the work was titled “Younis”, but the film’s makers changed the name while filming.
The film tackles cyber crime through the story of Younis, a man who lives with his wife and their baby girl. He decides to rob a bank online, but soon finds himself chased by a dangerous gang.
The movie is inspired by a true story. It reflects part of the political reality of today while offering many classic action scenes and chases.
The posters and the official promo of the movie were an immediate hit on social media.
