Former Antiquities Minister Zahy Hawass called on Egyptian people to pray for his friend, the world-famous actor Omar al-Sherief.
He added that Sherief is currently in overall good health, although he was diagnosed with an advanced level of Alzheimer's disease in London last month. Sherief's son, Tareq, who currently lives in Canada, is providing financial assistance for his treatment.
Hawass said he accompanied Sherief to one of the shows by Khaled Galal. According to him, Sherief enjoyed the show, but unfortunately showed signed of his illness.
