Tahrir Square has been partially opened to traffic on Sunday afternoon, improving the flow of traffic in downtown Cairo.
Popular Committees removed barbed wire and metal barriers at several entrances to the square, but access to the square is still blocked off coming from Abdel Moneim Riad Square and Qasr al-Nil Bridge.
Work resumed at the Mugamma, an administrative building located in Tahrir Square, and many people flocked to the building.
