Ten extremists were killed in a crackdown in Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah, North Sinai, on Friday, according to security sources.
Security forces claim to have attacked a dangerous criminal hideout in a farm, south Rafah, where clashes occurred between the security and extremists leading to the death of seven extremists, the injury of three, and the arrest three others.
The farm was destroyed and the security seized machine guns and explosives, the sources added.
Army forces foiled an attempt to target military vehicles as 150 kg of explosives were planted by militants on the roadside of Arish-Rafah. The armed forces detected the explosives and blew them up, said security sources.
