Sharqiya police announced on Thursday the arrest of an alleged terrorist cell of seven wanted Muslim Brotherhood members.
The suspects were found in possession of illegal leaflets and are already wanted in connection with violent offenses, according to Sharqiya police.
The group was discovered when Hassan Seif, the head of Sharqiya Security Directorate, received a communication saying Muslim Brotherhood members who reside in Abu Kebir, Sharqiya, had formed a cell and rented an apartment in Zagazig, where they planned to meet.
A police raid was conducted on the apartment, and the seven suspects were arrested.
Leaflets inciting violence and promoting the Muslim Brotherhood's ideology were found in their possession, according to investigators.
