Minister of Health and Population Khaled Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and his Iraqi counterpart Saleh al-Hasnawi have discussed means to boost mutual cooperation in the fields of pharmaceuticals, medical facility development, and training programs with the aim of enhancing healthcare relations.
The discussions took place on the sidelines of Global Conference on Population, Health and Human Development (PHDC’24), hosted by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, themed ‘Human Development For a Sustainable Future”.
The two ministers shed light on the historic relations between the two countries and fruitful cooperation achieved in various fields.
They also explored collaboration opportunities for exchanging expertise in mental health and addiction prevention, to maximize Iraq’s benefit from Egypt addiction prevention programs, Abdel Ghaffar said.
The ministers also discussed exchanging expertise in population work, reviewing Egypt’s population map strategy, and agreed to coordinate health officials.
The Iraqi Health Minister noted to the valuable gains from the conference and Iraq’s commitment to continued collaboration and experience exchange with Egypt.
