
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty lauded the growing political, economic and cultural ties between Egypt and the Netherlands, highlighting the promising opportunities to enhance economic cooperation.
This came during the minister’s phone call on Tuesday, December, 2, 2025, with his Dutch counterpart David van Weel, as they discussed bilateral relations and the latest developments in Gaza.
Abdelatty urged the Dutch side to increase investments in Egypt, particularly in new economic zones and major national projects, and praised the ongoing cooperation between the two countries on migration issues.
The ministers also exchanged views on the situation in Gaza. Abdelatty reiterated the importance of fully implementing the Sharm El-Sheikh peace agreement, reinforcing the ceasefire and progressing with the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2803.
He also emphasized the need for the international stabilization force to be deployed in Gaza with the urgent need for supporting reconstruction efforts.
Abdelatty further stressed the need for securing the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and expressed Egypt’s hope for active Dutch participation in the upcoming international conference on the early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza, which Egypt will host.
