
Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Minister Rania Al-Mashat praised on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, the UN Development Program for supporting government efforts through 45 projects in areas including climate action, development finance, digital transformation, clean energy, private-sector support, women’s empowerment and social protection.
Mashat met UNDP Resident Representative in Egypt Chitose Noguchi to discuss strengthening future cooperation and progress on Egypt’s upcoming Human Development Report. The minister highlighted the evolution of strategic ties under successive country programs, including the 2023–2027 plan aligned with Egypt’s national development priorities.
Noguchi said UNDP remained committed to backing Egypt’s development and financing agenda, including debt-swap programs and blended finance under the Integrated National Financing Framework. She said both sides continue to work on the next Human Development Report, SDG localization and South–South cooperation.
Talks also covered the 2026 Voluntary National Review, clean-energy expansion, debt-swap project pipelines and the implementation of Egypt’s unified monitoring and evaluation system. Both sides discussed ways to activate the Integrated National Financing Framework and boost regional competitiveness through SDG localization reports issued in 2025.
