Urban Development Fund showcases Egypt’s integrated housing model in Doha Forum

CAIRO, Dec 15 (MENA) – Chairman of Egypt’s Urban Development Fund Khaled Seddik highlighted the Fund’s distinguished experience in developing integrated urban communities that combine adequate housing, essential services, and job opportunities within a single framework, contributing to improved living standards and reduced rates of irregular migration.

Seddik made the remarks while participating Monday in the Sixth Arab Ministerial Forum on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, held in Doha, with the participation of a number of Arab officials and experts.

Seddik reviewed Egypt’s experience in upgrading unsafe areas and transitioning from informal settlements to integrated development models that enhance citizens’ quality of life, according to a statement released by the fund.

He also outlined key programs and projects implemented by the Urban Development Fund, including the redevelopment of unsafe informal areas, maximizing the use of underutilized land, and focusing on sustainability principles, urban resilience, and green cities.

Seddik stressed the importance of public-private partnerships and building trust with citizens to ensure the long-term sustainability of development projects.

He was awarded a commemorative shield by the Qatari government in recognition of the Urban Development Fund’s role in upgrading unsafe areas, establishing integrated urban communities, and the distinguished Egyptian experience in sustainable urban development. (MENA)
