Minister of Labor Hassan Radad announced that Monday, April 13th, will be an official paid holiday for private sector employees on the occasion of Sham El-Nessim.
In a statement, the Labor Ministry said employers may require staff to work on the day if necessary, provided employees receive double pay in addition to their daily wage or are granted a compensatory day off upon written request.
A circular has been issued to labour directorates nationwide to ensure the decision is implemented across workplaces and production sites.
Raddad extended his congratulations to the Egyptian people and workers on the occasion, wishing them continued success and the country further progress and stability
