Minister of Culture Gehan Zaki asserted that protecting the Egyptian identity represents the first line of defense for national security in the face of emerging challenges and attempts to undermine public awareness.
This came during Zaki’s participation in a session of the defense and national security committee in the House of Representatives where she presented the ministry’s comprehensive vision and key areas of work following 100 days in office.
The minister stressed that the ministry’s current strategy is focused on delivering creative and cultural services directly to citizens in urban streets, villages and rural areas, in line with efforts to promote cultural justice and human development.
As part of field-based initiatives, she highlighted that the ministry provides awareness and cultural enrichment as free services through the national project “culture for life,” alongside plans to restructure cultural palaces and offer affordable book packages to the public.
Zaki also noted that digital transformation is a key pillar in reaching younger generations.
