The Argentine national team canceled its scheduled morning training session on Saturday after severe thunderstorms hit Miami, temporarily disrupting preparations to face Egypt in the Round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup.
According to Argentine network TyC Sports, the decision to cancel the outdoor session complied with safety protocols implemented across the US.
These regulations mandate the immediate suspension of outdoor athletic activities during lightning and electrical storms to ensure the safety of players and coaching staff.
Instead of the planned pitch session, the Argentine players limited their workload to physical conditioning and recovery exercises inside the team gym.
This followed their qualification for the Round of 16, which they secured after defeating Cape Verde.
The Albiceleste are expected to hold two more training sessions in Florida before flying to Atlanta on Monday evening, where they will fine-tune their preparations to face the Pharaohs in the knockout stage.
