Assistant Minister of Health and Population for Information Systems and Digital Transformation Amr Ayed and Assistant Minister for National Projects Sherif Mostafa held talks on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, with representatives of Orange and STM to review progress in implementing digital transformation projects in the health sector.
Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the meeting discussed mechanisms to strengthen cooperation in developing Egypt’s digital health system in line with the state’s digital transformation strategy and efforts to improve the efficiency and quality of healthcare services.
The meeting reviewed the latest developments in ongoing projects and efforts to establish an integrated digital health system that enables the secure and efficient exchange of medical information, helping enhance service delivery, support faster and more accurate clinical decision-making, and improve patients’ experience.
Abdel Ghaffar added that discussions also covered expanding the use of artificial intelligence and advanced technological solutions to support healthcare delivery, improve operational efficiency, optimize resource management and enhance service quality.
He noted that plans are under way to advance digital healthcare through the creation of a unified electronic medical record for every patient, containing medical history and health data to facilitate information sharing among healthcare providers and improve the speed and accuracy of diagnosis and treatment.
The spokesman stressed that AI applications are intended to support physicians and enhance medical decision-making without replacing the role of healthcare professionals.
Ayed and Mostafa underscored the importance of accelerating project implementation, adhering to established timelines, and maintaining close coordination with the two companies to complete the projects in accordance with the highest technical and technological standards, in support of the ministry’s goal of building an advanced digital healthcare system that serves citizens.
