Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty made a phone call on Monday, August 3, 2026, with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis to discuss ways of advancing bilateral cooperation and exchange views on regional issues.
During the call, the two ministers praised the strong momentum in Egyptian-Greek relations across various fields, as part of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
They affirmed their commitment to building on the outcomes of recent high-level visits and contacts in order to further strengthen political and economic cooperation and serve the shared interests of the two friendly nations and their peoples.
The call also tackled the latest regional developments and the rapidly evolving situation in the region.
Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s intensive diplomatic contacts and efforts aimed at promoting de-escalation and reducing tensions, reaffirming Egypt’s support for all initiatives seeking to resolve the current crisis through dialogue and diplomatic means in a manner that helps contain escalating tensions and preserve regional security and stability.
The two ministers agreed to continue coordination and consultations within the framework of the strategic partnership between their countries and to support ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions across the region.
