Egypt's Coptic Pope Shenouda III went to New York on Sunday for medical treatment. The trip will last for at least a week, and bishops Armiya and You’anes, the Pope’s secretaries, accompanied him.
He undergoes periodic medical examinations at Ohio’s Cleveland Clinic and on 17 January returned from an eight-day treatment trip in the US.
According to the church, “Medical examinations at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio proved the Pope is in good health. His kidneys, heart and legs, for which he underwent surgery in 2008, are getting better.”
The Pope always travels to US for his kidney and the back problems.
