Egyptian naval forces rescued 81 undocumented migrants on board a fishing vessel en route to Italy on Saturday.
The vessel's engine broke down five nautical miles off the Alexandria coast and was sinking.
Marine units searched the area after receiving information from border guards who suspected the boat.
Authorities seized the boat and began legal proceedings against its passengers.
