Two incidents Tuesday raise concerns about the security situation as Egypt celebrates the first anniversary of the 25 January revolution, Cairo Security Directorate said Wednesday.
Policeman Saleh Ismail Abdel Khaleq said Tuesday that two people riding a motorbike without a license plate hurled a Molotov cocktail at a fire engine at the Heliopolis fire station.
The bomb hit the fire engine and fell to the ground without causing any injuries or damage, the department said.
A Central Security Forces truck parked in front of a building in Ain Shams also caught fire Tuesday, but its driver could not identify the cause, the department said.
The security department said the incidents show that people are trying to create chaos, and that attempts to do so will be addressed strictly to protect the nation and its resources.
